Koh Ker is an ancient temple

Koh Ker served as the capital of the Khmer Empire for a brief period in the 10th century under the reign of King Jayavarman IV.

The temple complex at Koh Ker features impressive sandstone structures, moats, and prasats (towers) spread across a vast area in the jungle. Due to its remote location, Koh Ker is less visited by tourists compared to the more famous temples around Angkor Wat, offering a quieter and more off-the-beaten-path experience.

Climbing to the top of some of the temples at Koh Ker provides panoramic views of the surrounding jungle and countryside.
